The biggest gripe with Android is that it does not allow you to take full control over your phone. Even though the OS has improved and is more open to customization in this day and age, it still feels quite difficult to make your phone look and feel like you want. The customization features on offer are slightly hidden or in some cases just are not available. Among hiding apps and changing the font and style of your lock screen, there are many things not possible with the OS's default launcher app. It is here that Next Launcher 3D Shell Lite comes in more than handy. With a stylish design and a plethora of customizable functions on offer, this is the app for you if you are tired of the same old look and feel of your mobile phone.
The launcher app, in any android phone, controls the main lock screen, the springboard, the other springboard panels and the overall display in the main menu. There are two ways to get started with the app. You can either launch the app after it is installed by tapping its icon or you can select it as the main launcher app after unlocking your phone. You can also just choose to start with the launcher app 'just now' so that you can make the choice of launcher app again when you unlock your phone another time.
Once Next Launcher 3D Shell Lite takes over your springboard and app list, you will feel a breath of fresh air. The main theme's style can be subjective and it's possible that you may not like the icons, font, and display. However, it's easily changeable. All you have to do is to go to the 'Themes' store from the main menu and install the theme you like from Google Play. There are a number of great themes designed for Next Launcher 3D Shell Lite so you shouldn't have a problem in picking one that suits your needs the best. You can also get some great live wallpapers and lock screens from the themes store.
The launcher app puts all the controls in your hands by letting you decide everything. From the number of springboard panels to the positioning of app icons on your screen, you can do it all with the app. The app offers some great management tools for your main menu. Once you enter the menu, you will find a 'menu' option at the bottom right of your screen. Tapping on it will give you four new options. The 'eye' option lets you hide the apps you want. The apps would stay on your phone but would stay hidden from any prying eyes. To access these apps, you would have to tap on the 'eye' button in the main menu. You can even set a password lock to access the apps if you feel you don't want anyone to see them once you hand them your phone. The 'folder' option lets you add new folders to the main menu. The 'mobile' option sorts the apps on your main menu into folders that define their genre. You can reset the feature very easily if you don't like how it sorts your apps. The 'settings' option lets you decide the background, the scroll orientation, and grid size etc.
The launcher app also allows dragging of apps from your main menu to your springboard panels. It's very easy to decide which app should go on which springboard unlike the default launcher option in Android phones where this is rather difficult.
The main problem with the app is that it has a lot of great features but it would take a lot of time of exploring the app to find them all out. The bombardment of ads doesn't help either.
- Plethora of customization options
- Fine collection of themes
- Wonderful sorting option of the main menu
- Total control over the springboard
- Not very user-friendly
- Too many ads
Next Launcher 3D Shell Lite can revitalize your interest in your phone by changing it all up and giving you total control. The launcher app has some wonderful features but could do with a friendlier user-interface.
